Thanks in advance -- POST SCREENSHOTS OF SUCCESS/FAILURE! I started with Kalyway 10.5.1 vanilla kernel EFI v8 Updated to 10.5.2, 10.5.3, 10.5.4 using netkas method (combo update background script in terminal) I did the same thing with 10.5.5, but can't boot anymore (It seems it starts to boot, I hear the HD 2-3 seconds, then spinning wheel and finally HDs are turned off). I had to format my time machine HD this week end so I lose everything Boot with -v shows error message about JMicron I've tried rd=disk2s1, tried -s then fsck -fy A solution to make me boot again would be VERY appreciated Processor : Intel Core2Duo E6850 @ 3066 MHz Mainboard : Abit IP35-E (ICH9, JMicron IDE Controller, Realtek ALC888, Marvell Yukon 88E8056) Memory : DDR2 2x Corsair CM2X1024-6400 1024 MB, 2x A-Data Extreme PC2-6400 512 MB Display : ASUS NVidia 8600GT 256MB, Sync Master 932GW DVI, [email protected] HDD : WD Raptor 150GB (Windows) on SATA#1, WD 320GB (OSx86) on SATA#2, Seagate 250GB on SATA#5 ODD : Lite-On DVDRW LH-20A1S on SATA#6, Samsung TSSTcorp DVD-ROM SH-D162C PATA Mouse-Key : HP Cordless 2.4GHz PSU : FSP Blue Strom II 500W Case : Aerocool S-55 Speaker : Edifier 2.1 Addon#1 : PCI-to-IDE Si I 0680 Ultra-133 Medley ATA Raid, Samsung 160GB PATA, Maxtor 160GB PATA Addon#2 : Thermaltake i Cage Drive Module Addon#3 : Huawei E220 HSDPA USB Modem OS : Mac OSx86 Leopard 10.5.5, XP-32 Pro SP3, Vista-32 Ultimate SP1 Bootloader : GRUB4DOS v0.4.3 | OSx86 : i ATKOS 1.0ir3, Kalyway 10.5.1, Kalyway Fix : MBR Partition Map Scheme | using PC_EFI V8, i Deneb using Chameleon v1.0.11 Boot ROM 9.5.0 Vanilla Kernel & Apple Reboot Fix Power Off bug Apple SMBIOS-27 rev.6 by Apple Intel fixed for ICHx chipset JMicron for JMicron JMB368 IDE Controller NVIDIA Ge Force 8600GT 256MB GFX String by OSX86Tools & Apple for Realtek HDA ALC888 on ICH9 Yukon2for Marvel Yukon 88E8056 Gigabit Kalyway 10.5.2 EFI V8updated to 10.5.3 with Ja S 10.5.3 Combo Updateupdated to 10.5.4 with downloaded delta updateupdated to 10.5.5 with downloaded delta update and netkas method (remove Apple Intel CPUPower during update)my screen..

I successfully went from 10.5.3 to 10.5.4 to 10.5.5 incrementally using these files: did NOT use the 10.5.5 Combo Update from Apple. I started with Kalyway 10.5.1 and then did the 10.5.2/.3 Kalyway updates. I successfully went from 10.5.3 to 10.5.4 to 10.5.5 incrementally using these files: did NOT use the 10.5.5 Combo Update from Apple. I started with Kalyway 10.5.1 and then did the 10.5.2/.3 Kalyway updates. Hi, I'm right here: Kalyway 10.5.3 with 9.2 sleep-kernel. Upgraded using the Netkas method and the 10.5.5 delta upgrade, NOT the combi. Now 'about this Mac' says my version is 10.5.5, and all (sound, graphics...) works as ever.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 and myself, and others with similar models have reported kernel panics when going from 10.5.4 Kalyway to 10.5.5 via Software Update.

There are a few tips and tricks, some success and some failures, but what is the clear cut method?

I'd like any of you Kalyway users to post your success and how you did it on getting 10.5.5 to run without erroring, panicing, or beachball syndrome.

But keep in mind, you will need to install new video drivers (NVkush) and if you are trying to keep your system kernel vanilla, you will loose shutdown, sleep, and reboot functionality. I downloaded Kalyway's Mac_OS_X_Leopard_10.5.3_Combo_Update from the usual source, followed instructions and applied the first of the two updates everything seemed to be going fine when all of the sudden my leopard desktop went black screen and an error massage began to cascade over and over againsomething along the lines of "Error getting a refrence to IODevice Tree:/options unknown SIGSEGV code 0" i had to make a complete reinstall of Leopard 10.5.2 which works like a charm My only real interest in 10.5.3 has to do with the iphone sdk, so i was just wondering if it is possible to install the latest beta on 10.5.2, ive read on several sites that it can be done by editing a few of the sdk's install files that handle the versioning data. If you really want 10.5.3, then Kalyway's updater is the simplest way to go. and I lost the restart, shut down and sleep functionality.

If this is the first time you are updating your hackintosh then read this guide twice before getting started. X to 10.5.8 with Combo Update remember you must have patched your DSDT.I have an Asus P5W DH that was running kalyway 10.5.4. I did not use the combi as previous combi upgrades have trashed the AHCI kexts; the delta upgrade did not. If you installed from 10.5.4, did you update to 10.5.4 in the same way you describe above?Downloaded the delta update 10.5.5 with the link provided in this post by mrmick and applied it with the netkas background script in terminal method. Thanks all for the info in this thread it was very helpfull. Also can you get the Vanilla kernel to work with your X38 MF because I can't get past 10.5.3 on my system? This guide is for Non vanila or hacked kernel & INTEL based system only. If you are upgrading from 10.5.7 then download Delta Update.
